Dates


  • May 9 - Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot (post marks do not apply)
  • May 12 - Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted civilian absentee ballots (post marks do not apply)
  • May 23 - Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (must be delivered no later than 5:00 p.m.)
Your original absentee ballot application MUST be mailed to our office or dropped off – we cannot accept email or fax submissions. The absentee ballot must be signed by the voter.

Who May Vote by Absentee Ballot?

  • Persons that expect to be absent from the municipality of residence because of duties, occupation or business (including poll workers not in their home precinct).
  • Persons who because of illness or physical disability are unable to attend their polling place.
  • Members of the armed forces whether registered or not.
  • Hospitalized or bedridden veterans OUTSIDE the county of residence, whether registered or not.
  • Spouses and dependents of members of the armed forces residing with or accompanying them and absent from the municipality of residence.
  • Members of the Merchant Marine, and their spouses and dependents residing with or accompanying them and absent from the municipality of residence.
  • For those who are permanently ill or disabled, Permanent Absentee status is available. These voters automatically receive absentee applications prior to each election in which they are eligible to vote for four years. If you are interested in this option, please contact our office and we will prepare the necessary paperwork for you.

How do I apply for an Absentee Ballot?


Absentee ballot applications may be requested by calling Voter Services at 610-344-6410 or you may print out the application and mail as per instructions on the application. (no fax or e-mail). If submitting a letter, it should contain the following information:

  • name
  • residential address
  • date of birth
  • reason for requesting absentee ballot
  • where to mail ballot
  • signature

What Is the deadline for applying for an Absentee Ballot? 


Absentee ballot applications must be received by Voter Services no later than 5 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to the primary or election. We ecommend that you apply as early as possible to allow for slower than expected delivery times. 

When must the ballot be returned?


All voted absentee ballots must be received by Voter Services no later 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to the primary or election. Post marks do not apply.  It is highly recommended that you mail your ballot back as early as possible to allow time for slower than expected delivery times. 


Please note:

Ballots may not be hand delivered to the Voter Services office by anyone other than the voter themselves. ID is required to turn in your ballot in person.
