Intellectual Disability

The County Intellectual Disability (ID) program serves 1500 county residents registered with the program. Each year the ID program uses about $58 million in federal, state, and county funds to purchase services and supports for individuals with intellectual disability and their families. Supports Coordination is available at no cost to registrants.

The ID administration works with southeastern PA agencies qualified by the PA Office of Developmental Programs to provide services. A Supports Coordinator (case manager) works with each individual to develop an Individualized Service Plan focused on what the individual needs to meet their maximum potential.

The publication Understanding Intellectual Disability & Autism Services in PA (The Gold Book) explains how services are structured in PA.
