Mission Statement
The mission of the Chester County Health Department is to provide personal and environmental health services to residents and visitors so that they may grow, live and work in healthy and safe communities.

Overview
The Health Department is responsible to the County Commissioners through a five-member Board of Health, all Chester County residents. Services are available to residents regardless of race, color, religious creed, ancestry, national origin, age, handicap or sex.

The Local Health Administration Law directs the Health Department to prevent or remove conditions which constitute a menace to public health; to make and enforce rules and regulations, and institute such programs as may be necessary for the promotion and prevention of the public health; to execute the powers and duties vested in it by the laws of the Commonwealth, and the rules and regulations of the State Department of Health and other departments, boards, or commissions of the state government.

Volunteering

The Health Department's Volunteer program is open to members of the community who would like to donate time. Volunteers assist in many program areas depending on an individual's expertise and the work that is available.
