District Attorney Tom Hogan announced the arrest of attorney Joshua Janis on charges of defrauding his mother-in-law of $5,000. He already has been arrested 3 times for defrauding over 30 former clients and once for theft charges relating to his wife.
On February 8, police executed a search warrant in South Coatesville where they recovered heroin, crack cocaine, suspected fentanyl, cash, and drug packaging materials. They also recovered an alligator, which was living in the kitchen of the residence.
Defendant Harold Nuse of Honey Brook initially was arrested for leaving 3 young children in a running vehicle with a gun while he went shopping. A subsequent investigation revealed that he had been feeding crystal meth to at least one of the children.
The DAO and PSP announced that there was a Trooper-involved shooting in West Nottingham on 2/1/19. After the suspect fled in a high-speed car chase, the suspect go out of his vehicle and pointed a gun at Troopers. Two Troopers discharged their weapons.
There had been new developments along Sunoco's Mariner East pipelines over the weekend. On 1/20, a new sinkhole opened up and it was discovered that constables from outside the County had apparently been hired by Sunoco to act as a private security force.
The Chester County District Attorney's Office donated over $500 to Safe Harbor of Chester County. Located in the heart of West Chester, Safe Harbor seeks to feed the homeless and provide shelter to those who need it.

The DA's Office announced that Seth Weber has been appointed as a special prosecutor to work on the investigation of the Mariner East pipelines in the County. Weber is a former prosecutor, having served for 26 years as an Assistant United States Attorney.
