The State Tax Equalization Board (STEB) has officially set the Chester County Common Level Ratio (CLR) at 60.2%. The CLR will be effective for all annual appeals heard by the Board of Assessment Appeals during 2013 (Board decisions will be effective for real estate tax bills issued in 2014) and any interim appeals with an effective date of 7/1/2013 through 6/30/2014.

EXEMPTION APPEALS
With Act 93 amendments to the Pennsylvania consolidated county assessment law, the exemption appeal filing window is now the same as that for annual appeals. The filing window is May 1 through August 1 annually.

Mission Statement
To follow the directives under state statute to accomplish the timely/accurate certified tax roll of all Chester County property assessments. Promote and maintain a high standard for customer service in supplying updated and accurate valuation/ownership/history data to property owners and the multitude of customers that rely on property data to carry on their daily operations.
Goals and Objectives
- Validate property sales and enter values into Integrated Assessment System (IAS).
- Routine capture of the property image and enter into the system.
- Carry forth provisions of the Homestead program along with public education on the program.
